Flavor those cubes...

I have found using diet A&W rootbeer freezes well. Also, using flavor sparkling water or flavored seltzer. The seltzer cubes, if left to rest a few minutes, give the cube a 'SONIC' texture. This technique is not as hard as regular water and the flavor is a difinite added bonus!

I have been freezing the sugar free flavored carbonated water in the ice trays that go into water bottles. If they sit for about 5 minutes after taking them out, they get a great chewy texture and they don't hurt my teeth.

I was on vacation last week and we drove past a Sonic. I told my husband I wanted some Sonic ice because some people online said it was the best. The pellet texture was neat! The ice at the bottom of the cup was chewier and better than the ice on top of the cup.

I love all ice except the ice from my own icemaker in the freezer.
