Ice Chewers Bulletin Board - All about Chewing Ice

So, I don't want to buy the $1000+ ice maker to get sonic ice. I have been doing perrier in ziplock bags, but never have enough ice. I was thinking about getting a small portable machine and filling it with carbonated water instead of normal tap water. Has anyone tried this? Does it work?
