An EXCELLENT Sonic Ice Alternative

I've found that AM/PM or Arco gas stations have WONDERFUL ice called Crunch Ice at their soda fountains. They also sell this ice by the bag, but you have to go in and ask specifically for a bag of Crunch Ice. They give you an empty ice bag, you fill it up. You can also buy a 52 oz cup for $0.50. It's the same type of nugget ice that Sonic sells. I was forced to find an alternative ice source because the Sonic near me always had an issue with their ice machine.

Oh my gosh! I was so fed up wwith finding crumbs or hair in my ice from Sonic, I started freezing a half a bottle of ice and crushing it with a hammer before cutting it open and pouring in a cup myself. I know that is extreme, but I am a clean freak, and one of my attractions to ice is how clean it looks. I will stop at nothing to get clean, crunchy ice. It's so insane, and I am so embarrassed by my issue, so I only do it at home.
