I believe you may be pregnant, Grace. Have you done anything that might get you pregnant lately?

Actually, if you haven't heard by now, those cravings are a sign of iron definciency. I am too addicted to ice chewing, and have been told this by my doctor. It's called a "pica" there's a lot of medical info about it on various medical websites

I have read several of the posts now. Just type in "Pica" on the internet and I can get information.

What is Pica?

Pica is a craving for non-nutritive substances like paper, dirt, and my favorite, ice. :) It's often caused by anemia. I'm pretty sure my love for ice is. :)

long time.....

I've been anemic for 11 years now due to an intestinal disease though my crave for ice has only surfaced more recently - actually since my anemia has been better. I went through a stressful time and started chewing ice.....don't know if that has anything to do with it but I continue to chew ice all the time.

I've studied up on "pica" as well....interesting.

I guess everyone has some sort of habit.....
