My iron level is 4 and the normal level is 20. I have just started taking an iron supplement. My doctor said that people who have low iron levels for reasons that cannot be explained need to chew on ice. I think it is hurtin gmy teeth. I am feelingmore sensative to hot foods and I also think the ice is making my fillings loose. I want to stop and hopefully when myh iron levels are back up I will!!

It is just a habit

I am not saying that the only people that chew on ice have a low iron level, I am saying that people will low iron feel the need to chew on ice. My doctor told me that she sees this allthe time. I can chew on Alaska also!!!!
