My sister asked me to look up this topic to find out if chewing ice was caused by hormone difficiency ( co-workers idea). She is a nervous person and may be craving ice as an outlet. It not the worst habit to have. She will be grateful to know she is not alone. Thanks :D :P :o

I just went through that. I craved ice for 5 years. Come to find out, I'm anemic and the doctor said that is why I crave it. I've been taking iron for 2 months, twice a day, and now I do not eat ice.

same as me, I found out I have iron-deficiency and I'm anemic. After taking iron, I stopped chewing ice.
