What makes the Best Ice?

I chew at least a 7 lb bag of ice a day and I have found that ice purchased from Raleys, Bel Air or Nob Hill is the easiest for me to chew. I go through about 7 to 10 bags a week. I don't like what our ice maker makes and have tried lots of other store bought ice. Their ice is very white (meaning it has air in it) so it is soft. I help it get softer by pouring out several cups into a tupperware bowl and putting that in the fridge. Over the course of several hours it gets softer--yet still crunchy--without too much melting. Incredibly, my dentist told me to do this, after he replaced to broken crowns recently. BTW, yes I am severly anemic, which requires specific therapies. I know when my anemia is back because the ice chewing gets even more manic than usual. When I travel in No Cal I always find a Raleys, Bel Air or Nob Hill and keep at least one of their bags in my car in a small cooler with water and a towel. I can chew up a whole bag in a 2 hour drive. It is nuts I know.
